Thank you all for your mail this week. I enjoyed reading your interests and concerns regarding environmental problems. They were all very important problems. Many environmental problems can be solved, but there are many more that need the attention of researchers who want to put time and effort into creating a better world, especially for the next generation.
You may be wondering why you had to tell me your concerns with the environment. Well, I would like you to do a short video presentation about these problems, and some solutions you can think of. Don't worry, this is not an assignment for this week. I will let you know how and when we will complete the assignment.
Tomorrow I would like to finish detailing your design projects, and as I said last week, I would like for each pair to present your ideas to the class using the overhead camera. This is a very useful project because you are putting your ideas out so people can see them and learn more about your thinking. Please don't be nervous. You don't have to be perfect, and for these projects, I'm not that concerned with perfect grammar or even spelling. Your ideas are very important to share, and if you have passion about your ideas, you can share them with the world and learn English naturally, without even feeling like you're studying.
After the presentations we will move onto unit 4 in the book - Computers in Environmental Science, and spend a little time becoming familiar with computer terminology, usage, and activities associated with computers and science. We will use the book a lot for this lesson, and probably do quite a bit of reading. There will probably be book homework for next week.
That's all for this blog! See you tomorrow.
